Schools' workshop feedback

Here is some of the feedback from schools that have visited in 2007/8

It was a real joy to visit The Newsroom and the students were 'buzzing' with the experience on the way home.
Southwark Gifted and Talented Programme

Was an enjoyable and most informative session which helped underpin the learning in the classroom in a highly creative and collaborative way. Children of all abilities were able to comfortably access the task at their own level.
Risley Avenue Primary School

I thought the session was excellent. The pupils were given a good introduction, clear instructions and helpful support.
Lenzie Academy

This reinforced and extended the literacy work we have been doing in class. Regular deadlines helped the children stay focussed.
Walnut Tree Walk Primary

All students felt proud in their achievement. Perfect for the new 21st Century Science course.
Ashmole School

Generally speaking what was covered in 1 day here would have taken 3 at school.
St. Joseph's School

High expectations created an atmosphere in which all pupils were engaged and the focus on language, expression, structure, style and counter-argument was incredibly useful.
Wanstead School

Well organised - pushed children to the limit to meet their deadline.
Goodrich Primary School

Their experiences today will long be remembered. There was a very definite sense that they consolidated and developed on prior learning.
Babington Community Technology College

The quality of learning by the pupils was very good - the excellent facilities and preparation of the resources and materials supported this.
Primrose Hill Primary School

Pupils were engaged the whole time; task was challenging and most rose to the challenge.
All Saints C of E School

The children were really focussed and had good fun producing their high quality finished work.
Lowther Primary

Pupils were highly motivated. Their learning of how to write and research a news story was displayed by the quality of the product they produced.
Thornhill Primary School

Pupils were stimulated and motivated - much more so than in the classroom.
St. Clere's School

Pupils enjoyed every moment and positive learning took place. A brilliant day and great experience for every single child.
Lintonmead Primary School

Pupils all learnt something about the style and format of newspapers as well as their chosen aspect of popular culture.
Prior Weston School

We look forward to reinforcing the key concepts in the classroom. This will certainly help pupils' non-fiction understanding.
St. Aloysius School

It was fantastic! A big, big thank you from me and on behalf of the children, who had a super time.
Allfarthing Primary School

This is a fantastic experience that the children gain huge amounts from.
White Styles Primary School

Thank you so much for a marvellous day - the students really enjoyed themselves and were overjoyed at the results. I am putting together an exhibition of their work if you wish to attend. Thank you again for all your help and inspiring future generation of journalists.
Sedgehill School

This is an excellent learning experience, working to a 'real' deadline in particular is very valuable for the students.
Ellen Wilkinson Girls' School

The teacher was excellent - very clear, very patient. Excellent facilities - well paced. Thank you very much.
Monega Pimary School

Excellent - the pupils were captivated.
St Andrew's School

The teaching was excellent, great leadership and well structured.
Sacred Heart Primary School

Good facilities - everything working - inspirational day out! A brilliant experience - when can we come again!
Holy Cross Primary School

Clearly explained and at the right level for the pupils. Allowed pupils autonomy and ownership of their work throughout.
Clarendon House Grammar School

The children were buzzing with excitement as we returned to school yesterday; they had the most fantastic day and were very proud of their newspapers.
Eaton Square School

Once again, this is the most engaging trip I have experienced with KS3.
The Misbourne School

Very clear, fantastic explanation - pitched perfectly - wonderful day - thank you so much! One of the boys commented that this was "his best trip ever!" (And we have been on loads!)
New End Primary

Excellent. High quality teaching, clear instructions and high expectations.
St Luke's Primary

Another fantastic day - thank you!
