My Favourite...Constellations

Andromeda I have an interest in Greek mythology as well so that is why I like this one. It is supposed to be a princess in the Greek myth, chained to a rock as a sacrifice to a sea monster (Some accounts state that the constellation 'Cetus' represents the sea monster, but a more common view of Cetus is that he is a peaceful whale.). It's unique because it's different between the southern and northern hemisphere.

Cancer Cancer the Crab, which when you look at it looks like anything but a crab. I just looks like a square box. In fact, it looks like a chair, to me. I only have the one telescope and it's an automatic; a Tasco. When I was back home in South Africa I was lucky enough to see Halley's Comet which only comes round every 76 years. I shouldn't imagine I'll be around the next time it passes through.

Aquarius This is one of the easier constellations to spot. Supposedly, this is a guy pouring water from a jug. There are one or two that are easy ones to spot, like the Three Sisters, that you really can't miss. Aquarius is probably about 14 to 16 stars. It's almost like just learning to join the dots, and the more I have done it the easier it becomes.

· Neal Hatley plays for London Irish RFU in the Zurich Premiership.
