What to watch this week, from The Lady to the return of Scrubs

The Observer’s TV critic Barbara Ellen on the best new shows airing and streaming

The Lady

ITV1

A true-crime drama about Jane Andrews – one-time dresser for the then Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson. In 2000, Andrews murdered her partner Thomas Cressman using a cricket bat and a kitchen knife. Starring Mia McKenna-Bruce as Andrews, it’s from the production company behind The Crown. The former prince Andrew – arrested this week on suspicion of misconduct in public office – isn’t depicted, but Ferguson (Natalie Dormer) is. Is this a double whammy of dubious taste levels and contentious timing?

Formula 1: Drive to Survive

Netflix

The addictive blockbuster Formula 1 docuseries this time covers the 2025 Grand Prix season. A somewhat stilted and cautious handling of the controversial departure of the Red Bull team principle, Christian Horner, includes an interview with Horner, and scenes at home with his wife, the former Spice Girl Geri.

We Might Regret This

BBC Two

Return of the abrasive, witty comedy, co-created by and starring Kyla Harris, about a tetraplegic woman who is now planning her wedding. Also stars Darren Boyd and Sally Phillips.
