The collection features five new models; including Broken Rules style mixes a black studded strap with soft blue accents, with a dial that states “Rules do not apply.” Distort Mode is a riot of electric yellow and pink, designed to disrupt and full of self expression, while Blank Check brings a raw, urban edge with torn paper patterns, plaid and graffiti-inspired graphics. Making facesLondon based artist, founder of Transition gallery and former make-up art, Cathy Lomax, curates a new beauty inspired exhibition, Blusher: Art, Makeup, Materiality, in Leicester this month. Lomax says, “Blusher is something of a passion project with the primary aim of foregrounding makeup as a thought-provoking (and joyful) subject that can inspire artists and offer insight into a multitude of different areas of social and visual culture.” Work in the exhibition ranges from artworks made using makeup, to painterly and sculptural interpretations and comments on makeup and made-up faces, through to videos that critique the wearing of makeup to conform to beauty standards and celebrate makeup as a playful way to dress up and change identity.  Blusher: Art, Makeup, Materiality.
