Zack Polanski continues to face questions about whether he should have paid council tax on a houseboat. The Greens say he stayed there “occasionally”, but the Times has unearthed evidence that it was his primary residence. This includes a sales advert posted by his partner, who described it as their “amazing home”. Dan Neidle, a tax expert, writes that it “seems likely” the boat was Polanski’s main residence and that he should have paid council tax there. Neidle said there was no reason to believe that Polanski’s failure to do so was “intentional or dishonest”. The allegations threaten to mar the performance of the Greens in the local elections.
