It has been a bad 24 hours for the Duke of Sussex. First there was the embarrassment of Buckingham Palace saying that Prince Harry could no longer stay at the royal residence after his team said he planned to do so. Then, just as Prince Harry was delivering a speech at the Invictus Games in London, a dire verdict landed. The high court ruled yesterday that Prince Harry had lost all his claims against Associated Newspapers Limited, the publishers of the Daily Mail. Prince Harry and six other claimants alleged that the newspaper group used unlawful methods to get information for stories. These allegations were repeatedly denied by Associated Newspapers. Prince Harry described the judgement as a “complete and obvious whitewash”. His battle against the press has led to a few wins, but this, undoubtedly, is a major loss.
