Jeremy Clarkson has revealed in the season finale of his hit show Clarkson’s Farm that he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Clarkson said the cancer was “aggressive” but had been found “really early”. The series was filmed between 2024 and 2025, so Clarkson’s current condition is unknown. But the decision to reveal the diagnosis on a show that skews towards older males will help to raise awareness for a disease that is the most common cancer in men but often caught late. It will also deepen debate over the benefits and harms of mass prostate cancer screening. An expert committee judged last month that most men in Britain should not be offered the screening on the grounds that it does not improve overall survival rates and can sometimes lead to unnecessary treatment. The final decision rests with the government.
