Join us for a live recording of the podcast, ‘The News Meeting’ and help set the news agenda. In every newsroom around the world there’s a daily editorial conference to decide what leads the news, what follows and in what order. In this live version of the hit podcast The News Meeting, the audience gets a chance to see and hear how these conversations shape the news agenda. You’ll be able to have your say, and share the stories you think our editors should be talking about, and watch Observer journalists battle it out with Lauren Frayer and Zing Tsjeng to have the lead story of the day. Lauren Frayer covers the United Kingdom, Ireland and parts of Europe for NPR News. She is a regular contributor to NPR podcasts, and serves as a guest host of Weekend Edition and Weekend All Things Considered. Zing Tsjeng is an author, journalist, documentary host and podcaster. She co-hosts the BBC podcast Good, Bad, Billionaire with the BBC's Business Editor Simon Jack. She has written for publications such as British Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, TimeOut London and more. As a presenter Zing has helmed VICE's award-winning sex and dating podcasting My First Time as well as the BBC Podcast United Zingdom, which the Guardian named as one of the best podcasts of 2020. She has launched the award-winning millennial women's website Broadly in 2014 and the online news desk at Dazed as its first News Editor. In 2018, Octopus published her four-book series Forgotten Women, which explores the untold stories of inspiring women who have been marginalised from history. Book now to join us in person or online.
