Jeff Bezos is reportedly offloading his £370m superyacht because it is too recognisable. Built in secret by a Dutch shipbuilder, Koru is 417ft and costs £22m a year to maintain. Bezos is not paranoid in thinking that the yacht attracts attention. The prow is adorned with a wooden sculpture of the Norse goddess Freyja, which bears a striking resemblance to Lauren Sánchez. But Bezos and Sánchez are hardly keeping a low profile elsewhere. The couple attended last night’s Met Gala as the new chairs and main funders. Overseen by Vogue, the party is one of the most watched red-carpet events in the world. The involvement of Bezos has renewed rumours that he wants to buy Vogue’s parent company, Condé Nast.
