It's more than 75 years since Cristóbal Balenciaga introduced Le Dix—the Maison’s first perfume, named after the salon address – 10 Ave Georges V. The revival is a culmination of a 15-year search by the house’s archivists, to recover a forgotten perfume bottle. The original has been scanned to faithfully reproduce every detail, down to the hand tied ribbon. Le Dix is joined by 9 new fragrances, including, Getaria, named after Balenciaga’s coastal Spanish birthplace, with notes of salty citrus, pink pepper and seaweed, 100% a maximalist rose experience and Cristobel – a tribute to the founder’s name, using one of the most precious ingredients in perfumery, oud oil. £230, Balenciaga

The V&A’s Marie Antoinette Style exhibition opens next week and explores Marie Antoinette’s lasting influence as the most fashionable queen in history, including her love of footwear – a passion that she indulged with abandon, famously acquiring several pairs each week. To coincide with the exhibition, Manolo Blahnik has designed a limited-edition collection of pumps inspired by the original pieces he created for Sofia Coppola’s 2006 biopic, Marie Antoinette. Blahnik, who has a longstanding fascination with the French queen, says this is a “dream fulfilled”. The 11 styles include delicate box-pleat detailing, frayed silk fringing and a pale brooch, a tribute to Antoinette’s love of fine jewellery; another sees delicate pastels signature to Rococo style, with powderpuff pink nods to Marie Antoinette’s makeup and her famous rose garden.
