We’re in the midst of Indian mango season, but good things can’t last forever – or can they?

You think you don’t need a spoon dish, but actually they’re very useful for cooks with a hobful of things to stir. This one’s made of… yep, mango wood.

Hot mango pickle

Ferns’, £3.80, souschef.co.uk

We’ve never met a mango pickle we didn’t like, but this is a current favourite due to larger fruit pieces.

Mango chutney

Geeta’s, £2.15, morrisons.com

Widely available, nicely spiced, there is no cheddar toastie (or ready salted crisp) that isn’t improved by a generous splodge.

Mango chutney potato grills

Cofresh, £1.20, sainsburys.co.uk

An all-in-one treat for those who like to dip crisps in mango chutney, but don’t enjoy the judgy looks.

Mango pulp

KTC, £2.78, asda.com

Best used in desserts and baking – even in mango season (way more affordable).

Mango & passion fruit ice-cream

Waitrose No 1, £4.50, waitrose.com

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: Waitrose No 1 is the best ice-cream available in supermarkets. This one is properly mangoey.

Frozen mango chunks

Ocado, £3.20, ocado.com

Always useful for off-season smoothies, breakfast bowls and frozen daiquiris.
