Get the hang of it: statement earrings are back again

Chandelier-like earrings will light up your look this season

Lobe-lengthening, shoulder-grazing, jumbo-gemmed and sculptural earrings have taken centre stage this season. Saint Laurent’s SS26 show kick-started the resurgence with blown-up proportions and 1980s maximalism: exaggerated power shoulders on biker jackets; oversized pussy-bows on blouses and, to finish, ornate chandeliers that were impossible to miss. At Chanel, Matthieu Blazy’s gigantic floral silk studs took inspiration from Flemish bouquets, while at Acne, chunky collaged rhinestones hovered above smooth leather blazers. The good news is that extravagant ears can be curated at all price points: if buying designer is out of reach, high street and independent brands have a wide range of on-trend pieces that look far more expensive than they actually are.
